At the conference we will have information on our G5-RSS bidirectional DC power system range, featuring industry leading dynamics. With two current ranges for high accuracy, the G5-RSS is ideal for cycling energy storage devices. The module’s ultra-fast dynamics with switchable capacitance also allows accurate simulation of batteries and capacitors. A current step between 90% sourcing to 90% sinking can be as quick as 50us, enabling high speed drives to be supplied. Users can set a programmable current ripple up to 10kHz with the optional embedded function generator, commonly used for EIS testing. An optional fibre optic interface using the Aurora protocol is in active development in collaboration with key PHIL providers such as Opal-RT, due to be released early next year.
Individual modules are available with nominals from 9kW to 54kW, at 60V to 1500V. Up to 120x units can be operated in master/slave, with outputs up to 3000V are possible into the megawatt range. Multi-module systems based around a mid-point earth are also possible, creating a +/- voltage output.
